A project that lasted more than two weeks, the Xisibei Exhibit originated from an invited competition held by a local developer to re-design a historic neighborhood in Beijing. The team was composed of two OMA*AMO employees and seven GSD students. A review session with Rem Koolhaas was held in the middle of the work session. Instead of a design proposal, our work focused on a theory-level overview of the preservation field. Some speculations on urban preservation methods were given by the team to meet the challenge in Beijing. My role in the project includes research, idea generation, and graphic design. The exhibit boards were displayed at the Beijing Library and the Shenzhen Biennale.
