Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architectural Designer to work with our dynamic and forward-thinking design firm throughout the full cycle of design, permitting, and construction process for residential and small commercial projects. This part-time contractor position (10 to 20 hours per week) offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in architectural design, wood construction, technical proficiency, and residential code compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with the design team to contribute to the conceptualization and development of architectural projects including residential and small commercial new construction and remodel.

·         Utilize technical skills to create detailed and accurate as-built, schematic, and permit drawings.

·         Demonstrate expertise in wood construction methods and materials. Able to provide construction details for homeowners and contractors.

·         Navigate and interpret residential building codes and energy codes to ensure designs comply with all relevant regulations and standards.

·         Guide projects through the permitting process, working closely with local authorities and agencies to secure necessary approvals.

·         Engage in the entire project lifecycle, from initial design concepts to permitting and construction.

·         Stay updated on the latest industry trends, materials, and construction techniques, especially those related to residential construction in the Greater Seattle region.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.

·         Strong technical skills in architectural design and proficiency in Revit. Rhino 3D is a plus.

·         In-depth knowledge of wood construction methods and materials.

·         Familiarity with residential building codes and regulations.

·         Experience with the permitting process and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements.

·         Detail-oriented with a keen eye for precision in design and documentation.

·         Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and outside consultants.

·         Proficiency in making physical models is a plus.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Architectural Designer to work with our dynamic and forward-thinking design firm to provide highly creative solutions to residential, small commercial, and hypothetical projects. This part-time contractor position (10 to 20 hours per week) offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in design creativity and visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with the design team to bring forth creative and visionary design concepts for both real-world projects and design competitions.

·         Develop and present high-quality design visualizations to effectively communicate concepts to clients and project stakeholders.

·         Stay abreast of the latest advancements in visualization technology and other creativity tools to integrate forward-thinking strategies into projects.

·         Assist in the development of design strategies that push the boundaries of traditional architectural norms.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.

·         Excellent aesthetic sense and a strong portfolio showcasing creative design solutions.

·         Strong design visualization skills using software such as Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant tools.

·         Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to explore unconventional design approaches.

·         Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and outside consultants.

·         Proficiency in making physical models.

The followings are not required but would be a Plus:

·         Experience and proficiency in computational design tools including Rhino, Grasshopper and its plug-ins, etc.

·         Knowledge of Revit and Dynamo.

·         Working knowledge and proficiency in AI design tools such as MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.

·         Passion for leveraging AI technology to enhance architectural design processes.
