Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architectural Designer to work with our dynamic and forward-thinking design firm throughout the full cycle of design, permitting, and construction process for residential and small commercial projects. This full time position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in design creativity and visualization, wood construction, technical proficiency, and residential code compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with the design team to contribute to the conceptualization and development of architectural projects including residential and small commercial new construction and remodel.

·         Utilize technical skills to create detailed and accurate as-built, schematic, and permit drawings.

·         Demonstrate expertise in wood construction methods and materials. Able to provide construction details for homeowners and contractors.

·         Navigate and interpret residential building codes and energy codes to ensure designs comply with all relevant regulations and standards.

·         Guide projects through the permitting process, working closely with local authorities and agencies to secure necessary approvals.

·         Engage in the entire project lifecycle, from initial design concepts to permitting and construction.

·         Stay updated on the latest industry trends, materials, and construction techniques, especially those related to residential construction in the Greater Seattle region.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.

·         Minimum one year experience working for architectural firms.

·         Strong technical skills in architectural design and proficiency in Revit. Rhino 3D is a plus.

·         In-depth knowledge of wood construction methods and materials.

·         Familiarity with residential building codes and regulations.

·         Experience with the permitting process and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements.

·         Detail-oriented with a keen eye for precision in design and documentation.

·         Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and outside consultants.

·         Proficiency in making physical models is a plus.
