Weehawken 1800 is a 282-unit high-end condominium community on the waterfront of Hudson River, privileged with spectacular panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline. The “mini-tower” concept enables multiple lines of corner units throughout the building. The curvature language in the facade echos the dynamic nature of the river, and a curtain wall system guarantees fast construction process and robust built quality. The project boosts about 20,000 sq. ft. indoor amenities, including residential lounge, indoor-outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, half basketball court, multi-media room, kids room, game room, library and co-working space, etc. The outdoor amenities will include pool, dining and kitchen stations, sun deck, firepit and lounge seating. Its convenient location allow a 10-20 minutes commute to Midtown Manhattan. I am the project lead in charge of development, design and construction of this project.
Weehawken 1800 Sales Gallery is tasked to portray the key design features of the half-million sq. ft. base building, as well as to provide an enhanced sensory experience through the use of interactive audio/video equipment and virtual reality goggle. A visitor’s journey begins in the Reception lobby, which is set in the backdrop of a specially designed feature wall. The floor is tiled with large-format porcelain slabs imported from Italy. Linear LED lights in the ceiling guide the visitor to the next space – the Gallery, where a 1:100-scale building model and a 1:1000-scale context model are on display. Interactive sales tools synchronize the large screen TV on the wall with the building model, so that each unit displayed on the screen and the lit unit on the model correspond to each other. Wearing an HTC VR goggle, the visitor will be able to walk through a 3D model of the building and have a full understanding of the design. The journey culminates at the Model Room, where two kitchen types, two master bathroom types, and a secondary bathroom are faithfully represented with the materials that will be used in the base building. The countertop tiles are imported from Italy, and the engineered wood floor imported from Sweden. Emerging from the Model Room, the visitors come to the Club, where drinks and fine cuisine will be served for VIP guests. A pantry kitchen conveniently serves the Club. The rest of the 10,000s.f. interior includes a large conference room with state-of-the-art A/V equipment, and multiple offices. An outdoor terrace serves as a party venue during nice weathers.

Large screen TVs on the wall are programmed with interactive sales tools. The journey culminates at the model rooms, where the best features of Park and Shore’s living room, kitchen, master bathroom and powder room are on display. Hudson Park is a high-end large rental apartment complex in Yonkers, NY, consisting of nearly 800 residences. The project included the upgrading of the existing amenities in the three existing buildings, adding two showrooms, and designing and constructing a fourth tower with lobby, pool, and sky lounge. The design took a rustic approach to align with the flavor of the surroundings, using exposed concrete, reclaimed wood panels, black steel framing, and exposed ceiling. The value-add architectural intervention resulted in a robust rent increase for the existing buildings, and a premier rental property that was able to compete with other newly built rentals in the area.
